After his estranged father is killed in a hate inspired murder in America, a little boy from Ethiopia finds his life set on a new and complicated path that challenges his sense of identity, stokes the fires of his dreams and paves the way for an extraordinary coming of age adventure illuminating the worst of what America has been and best of what it can be. Based on a true story, A Cow in the Sky is a short film that intertwines original animation with archival video footage from the 1990 landmark trial in Portland, Oregon.
