About AMSPE.
A May Sky Picture Entertainment (AMSPE) was started by C. Fraser Press and Darren Press to develop, write, direct and produce projects with edge and empathy for film, tv, live theatre, and more.
AMSPE currently has multiple feature length scripts in the Comedy, Drama and Horror/Comedy genre. Our latest project, the animated short film A Cow in the Sky, (Tribeca, Woodstock, RiverRun) is based on a true story about the 1988 murder of Mulugeta Seraw, an Ethiopian immigrant, at the hands of racist skinheads in Portland, OR. A Cow in the Sky combines original animation and archival video footage with voice over performed by Grammy nominee Aminé. AMSPE has secured life rights and a feature narrative is in development. Our feature film Theresa is a Mother won numerous Best Film awards and after a theatrical release landed on Netflix (“A psychologically rich comedy” -The Hollywood Reporter). Recently our short Too Many Buddhas with Maria Bamford & Maeve Press (Cinequest, Mill Valley) won Best Comedy at Montréal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.
AMSPE projects have screened at 50+ domestic and international film festivals, premiered at really cool fringes, received theatrical distribution, won awards, and have been seen all across streaming, and more. We are always ready to speak with creative people and those interested in working with us.
